Jacob Milligan was the son of Dr. John Milligan (1728 - 1789) of NY and his wife Ann Phenix Milligan.   Doctor John Milligan and Ann had these known children: William (1745-1782), Jacob (1747-1796), Eliza, Martha (1750-1790) and John Phenix (1755 - 1784).  There are known descendants of Jacob, William and Martha.  In addition to being a "doctor of physic" John Milligan and Ann sold a variety of items in their Beaver Street store, from women's shoes to garments, to medicines of all types.
